Absrtact
This project was carried out from February 26, 2016 to December 31, 2016.The implementation results of this project are as below: Assisting the EPA to continue reviewing the operation results of electric compression refuse truck and benefits of energy conservation and carbon emissions. The charging environment was evaluated to strengthen safety by visiting the existing parking lots of electric compression refuse truck. In the same time, the appropriate power supply model for the future was assessed. Such information could be the reference of the next procurement specifications of electric compression refuse trucks. This project also continued to collect general waste collection basic data of refuse trucks, manpower, collection modes and transportation routes from the information management system, making recommendations for the EPA’s further evaluation of old refuse trucks replacement. Considering the current garbage clean-up situation in Taiwan, round baling technology was also collected as the references for cities and counties’ storage and transportation. For assisting the EPA to deliver the replacement plans of low carbon refuse trucks redeeming, this project has finished the whole joint procurement procedures of rear loader refuse trucks for 2016 (including engine power and electric compression power). The production, inspection and actual condition of refuse trucks procured from Inter-entity Supply Contracts were tracked and reviewed to develop improvement suggestions and to provide relevant advice and assistance. The project also developed the next phase plan of promoting the low carbon refuse collection and transportation.
